About

The story of A Marilla’s Istanbul began with the colours, patterns, and cultural impressions that interior architect and designer Özgecan Özolcay collected throughout her travels.

Sometimes it is a ceramic discovered in Lisbon, sometimes a pattern encountered in Sicily, and sometimes an architectural detail that remains in memory for years. Impressions gathered from different corners of the world gradually transform into prints, and those prints become collections.

At the heart of every collection lies a story.

Inspired by cultures, ceramics, traditional tiles, landscapes, and local narratives from around the world, our prints capture the spirit and memories of the places that inspired them. Each design emerges from a journey and continues to carry its traces wherever it goes.

We do not create pieces to be admired for only a season.

We design garments that remain in your wardrobe for years, travel with you summer after summer, and evoke cherished memories every time they are worn.

Perhaps it is a kimono worn on a trip to Lisbon.

Perhaps it is the favourite dress from an unforgettable summer evening.

Or perhaps it is a piece that, years later, still brings back the same feeling of joy when rediscovered in your wardrobe.

Crafted primarily from 100% cotton and carefully selected natural fabrics, our collections are designed to offer both comfort and longevity.

A Marilla’s Istanbul transforms journeys, memories, and cultures into wearable art.
